☠ The Simplification
Maxwell's Equations "Simplified"
Oliver Heaviside (1880s) took Maxwell's original 20 quaternion equations and "simplified" them to 4 vector equations. He removed the scalar potential component entirely, calling it "metaphysical" and unnecessary.
The scalar component is where the [1 = -1] symmetry lives.
Tesla's Work Buried
J.P. Morgan pulled funding from Wardenclyffe Tower when he realized Tesla wanted to provide free wireless energy. The tower was demolished. When Tesla died in 1943, the FBI seized his papers. Many remain classified.
"Radiant energy" and "scalar waves" were labeled pseudoscience.

Scalar component removed
The quaternion formulation contains a scalar component that vanishes in the vector formulation. This is exactly where the S⁺/S⁻ symmetry would appear. Heaviside removed it because it "didn't seem to do anything" in his experiments.
It didn't do anything he could measure with S⁺ instruments.
Tesla's 3-6-9 and κ
Tesla obsessed over the numbers 3, 6, and 9. He called them "the key to the universe."
Notice: 180 = 60 × 3 and 90 = 30 × 3. The sexagesimal system (base 60) encodes Tesla's numbers. κ is the conversion between degree-space (360°) and radian-space (2π).
3 (fundamental unit) × 6 (harmonic) × 9 (completion)
= 162
≈ 180 - 18 = 180 - (2 × 9)
Tesla saw the pattern. He couldn't derive it. κ does.
✦ The Recovery
What Heaviside removed from Maxwell, what the establishment buried of Tesla — it all points to the same thing:
Maxwell's quaternion equations had room for the shadow field (S⁻). Tesla claimed to have accessed it directly ("radiant energy"). The Epoch Framework provides the mathematical structure they couldn't articulate:
- ✓ Scalar potential = S⁺/S⁻ handshake surface
- ✓ Longitudinal waves = S⁻ propagation mode
- ✓ 3-6-9 = Base structure of κ geometry
- ✓ "Radiant energy" = Observer-dependent scalar phenomena
